I love this City!!!!

Tamara Dunlop...
The first time I met Tamara she was still in School and I had just started returning to church. With a group of her friends they came up and asked me if I was 'Joey Joe Joe' from Facebook. Slightly concerned, but mostly loving it, I replied that I was and asked who they were and how they knew me.
I never imagined 4 years later I would be traveling Greece with the once awkward, slightly stalkerish, Tom-boy.
However, after a few years of hanging out with mutual friends, here we were in London. Ready for another new adventure...

My nine days in London with Tamara were amazing. I think you truly become prouder and more excited by your city when you show it off to others (That is right, I'm calling London my city now).

We started her first day with a walking tour to see all the famous sites. We walked all day and all around the city. It was a wonderful day and we had beautiful weather.

Thursday we set off for Madame Tussurds which was the best fun. We spent all day pulling faces and striking poses next to celebs.

The highlight for me was of course the wax of the late Amy Winehouse.
I took too long posing with and staring at her.

The next day we hit the streets. Shopping and clubbing!

Harold's was AmAzInG and was far more than I was expecting.

The food hall was mesmerising! After 20mins of looking and debating what to get we got our delicious, fresh and quality food. It was so good!!!

On Sunday we headed to Camden Markets for a fun morning of browsing and shopping. The markets were not what we had imagined and we found it mostly consisted if cheap copies and most stalls sold the same items as the last twelve. I don't know if we did it wrong but we were not too impressed.

After lunch we then headed to St. Paul's Cathedral before ending our day by worshiping at Hillsong Church.

Monday was our History day. We spent the day at the Tower of London. A guided tour by a beefeater gave us some insight into the sight before we began to view it for ourselves.

Even to this day the Beefeaters live there. At night the gates are locked and no one can get in or out. This is why the Tower has its own Doctor, Church and Pub.

As we lined up to view the Crown Jewels another naivety of Joey was revealed. The Crown Jewels is not just a viewing of the Queen's crown with its multiple jewels. But rather, the collection of royal jewels and treasures. It was brilliant to see and exciting to be in a room
filled with such priceless items.

The next day was our English 'beach day' at Brighton. It was a typical summer day in England... It rained for 20mins and too cold to be outside without a jacket.

However, we made the most of it and had a lovely day at the pebble beach, shopping and along the pier.
Tamara bought some carved chocolate from the famous Choccy Wocky Doo Da shop and kept a look out for her YouTube crushes.

That night we ran (because we were so late) to the West End to see the new musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We arrived and were seated in the second row just as the lights dimmed and the curtains opened. It was a great production and loads of fun. Another Roald Dahl classic brought to life on stage.

Our next exersion was to Kings Cross and then onto the Harry Potter exhibition.

It was a really fun and exciting day.

Walking around the same sets and props, learning inside secrets, viewing the Castle the created and filmed for the movie and tasted Butterbeer!

It was amazing!

We caught the last bus back to the station at 9:30pm.
We spoke about all the things we had just seen. We were on such a high that when we got back to the train station we missed read the signs and caught the wrong train. No big deal right? Uh-Uh! We traveled an hour on a high speed train out of London towards Whales. We ended up in Burningham at 11pm at night with no more trains or busses leaving for London till 3am. So we sat at the bus shelter until 3. Boarded a bus arriving in London 4 hours later...we did survive however!!!
The day after our disaster Tamara viewed the Brittish museum and we prepared for our flight to Athens and Contiki.
More to come on that soon...
